a little license

Friday was the big day we went to V to apply for our marriage license. Yeah....I wanna work at the Clerk of Courts office, because they clearly do NOT have enough to do. Why is it that people think they can joke with a stranger when you've obviously come there for one purpose only? And why, WHY, when she copied my info from my birth certificate/driver's license were my middle name and birthdate wrong? Hello?? This required printing the application not two, but count them, three times! Sheesh! We asked them to mail the license to us, I'm crossing my fingers they don't screw that up too.

IT FITS, IT FITS, IT FITS......

*Happy little dance* I had a fitting with my alteration lady last night, and lo and behold, the dress zipped up ALL the way. Whew! So my dieting efforts paid off. What a relief.

Also finished up making necklaces for the wedding party last night. They look awesome! And why wouldn't they? They were custom-made by myself and my good friend Lisa.

24 days until the wedding, and the only remaining item of significant importance is flowers. Yes, I know, some would say that I should have done that months ago. But that just isn't one of my priorities. Yes, there WILL be flowers, real flowers even. Just not many of them, and I may even arrange them myself.

5 weeks until 'G' day

Ah yes, G day. (Meaning the day I become a Griffin.) Exactly 5 weeks and 4 hours from right now. Got darn near everything lined up. Thanks to my good friends C and G for helping out! I can only hope it is not as hot as today!

My washing machine broke on July 3rd. I bought the set used almost 5 years ago for $100, so it really didn't owe me anything yet. However, there's never a good time for things to break, is there? After finding out how much parts would be to repair, we opted to replace. So we got a new washer and dryer set. Delivered a few hours ago. The new ones ROCK! Quiet, energy efficient, and they're HUGE - even more capacity than my old ones. Coolest thing is the touch pad controls. And the washer 'talks' to the dryer through a serial cable. So the dryer knows what settings to use, based on the settings from the washer. Ahh, clean clothes again....

Finished one summer school class, and got an AB. The one I'm working on now may be a little more challenging. The toughest thing about it is finding the time to study and actually DO the homework though.

Today we're off to a wedding shower. Not a bridal shower, because the men are invited. Matt's aunt has a pool though, so imagine we'll spend quite a bit of time there.
